Terms of Service

Last updated November 7, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Sean Warren, who runs Banana (“we”), for using bananabuild.com. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. We’ve kept them as plain as we can.

1. Who can use Banana

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Use your real name and accurate information, keep one personal account, and keep your password to yourself.
  • If you use Banana for a company or lab, you confirm you’re allowed to act for it.

2. Your work stays yours

  • You own what you post. You give us permission to host, store, display and share it on Banana as your settings allow, and to show it in previews when you share a link. This permission ends when you delete it, apart from copies in short-lived backups.
  • Only post what you have the right to share. Class work must be your own and must not break your school’s rules (no answer keys or exam solutions). Work from an internship, co-op, lab or employer may be confidential: only post it if they’re fine with it, and leave out anything private.
  • Credit teammates honestly. Don’t claim work you didn’t do.

3. Endorsements and badges

  • Only endorse skills you actually saw in someone’s work. Don’t trade endorsements or use extra accounts to inflate them.
  • Badges show that someone proved control of an email address at a school or company domain, or that we reviewed a faculty listing. They aren’t a background check, and we don’t guarantee anyone’s skills or identity.
  • We may remove endorsements or badges that break these rules.

4. Bounties

  • A bounty is an agreement between the person who posts it and the person or squad who does the work. Banana is the place where they meet; we aren’t a party to that agreement and don’t employ anyone who takes a bounty.
  • Posters: describe the work, the reward and what counts as done honestly, and pay what you promised for work that meets it. Solvers: deliver your own work, on time, as described.
  • Who owns the result: unless the bounty says otherwise, the solver owns their work until the agreed reward is paid in full; once it is, the solver transfers ownership of the delivered work to the poster. Either side can ask for a confidentiality agreement before starting.
  • Until payments are built into Banana, rewards are paid directly between poster and solver. We don’t hold or move money and aren’t responsible for payments, taxes or disputes about them, though our admins may help review a dispute raised on the site.

5. Things you can’t do

  • Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful, sexual, violent or illegal content.
  • Post someone else’s private information, or content that infringes someone’s copyright, trademark or trade secrets.
  • Spam, scam, impersonate people, or create fake accounts, endorsements or bounties.
  • Break into accounts, probe or overload the site, scrape it in bulk, or get around its security or limits.
  • Upload malware, or files you know are harmful.

6. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or remove accounts or content that break these terms or put other people at risk; where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why.

7. The fine print

  • Banana is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running and secure, but we don’t promise it will always be available or error-free, or that anything posted by members is accurate.
  • To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what members post or do (including bounty work and payments), and our total liability to you is limited to $100 or what you paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is more.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to sort it out.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as Banana grows (for example, when payments arrive). We’ll update the date at the top, and tell members about important changes before they take effect. If you keep using Banana after that, the new terms apply. Contact: hello@bananabuild.com.
